State Jumping Equitation
Individual Competition
Three classes will be held, starting with a simple jumping round and increasing in difficulty (but not height) with each subsequent class. Two classes will be held on Saturday and one on Sunday.

Club/Zone Championship Teams
Individual Games: Awards to fifth place for Juniors, third place for Associates
Teams: Champion to fifth place for Juniors, third place for Associates
a. Club Teams: FIVE (5) members with no more than one (1) Associate in any Team. Each team are to be members from one Club only. Age is as at first day of competition. The emergency, if not required for all games, must compete in at least three (3) of the games.
b. Zone Associate Teams: FIVE (5) members in any Team. All team members must be from the one Zone. Age is as at first day of competition. The emergency, if not required for all games, must compete in at least three (3) of the games.
LAYOUT OF COMPETITION ARENA
It is advised that the maximum arena is 100 yards x 80 yards (92 m x 74 m) and the minimum size is 80 yards x 60 yards (74 m x 55 m). There will be a "6 yard line" (5.5 m) behind the start and changeover lines. Riders not involved in a hand-over must keep behind this line. Where possible the arena should be marked out with posts and rope.
There will be ten games with a tiebreaker. The Committee reserves the right to change any or all games.
GAMES & QUALIFYING TIMES
The following qualifying times apply for games to be held at the State Championships. Team must meet the qualifying time in at least five events. Events and times are to be recorded on the entry form for each team. Please refer to the event schedule as some games change each year.

Individual awards to 10th placing. Where there is a tie (after countback) the ribbon recipient will be decided by the flip of a coin, except for tenth place in which case extra ribbons will be provided.

CROSS COUNTRY SPEED

Time Limit is twice the time allowed. Periods during which a competitor has been held up by a Jump Judge or Official, will be deducted from the actual time taken, to determine the correct time for completing the course. All jump judges will carry an accurate stopwatch for this purpose. Cross-country courses will be open for inspection to all interested persons at a time to be announced.
OPTIMUM TIME
Riders 17 years and under 25 years do not ride to optimum time. Riders under 17 years will ride to optimum time (time allowed plus nothing less 20 seconds) before a time penalty is incurred. An award for closest to optimum time on the cross-country will be awarded in each group to the rider with a clear cross country round who is closest to the optimum time.
