Chukka time at Camden - Bombers Australia State Polocrosse Championships
Pony Clubs across the State have honed their racquet skills in readiness for the 2012 Bombers Australia State Polocrosse Championships to be held Bi-Centennial Equestrian Park, Camden from the 12th to the 15th July 2012.
Tough competition can be expected from the 155 participants which make up 23 teams overall. Last year’s winners, local Zone 19 Under 13 years team, Zone 16, 13 to under 17 years team from Canberra and the Zone 20, 17 to under 25 years team from Tumut will all be defending their hard won 2011 titles.
Host Pony Club Zone, Zone 19, will field five teams, competing across all age groups having trained weekly in anticipation of the high level of expected competition.
The event will kick off with a fitness check on Thursday, July 12, as well as the best presented team of the carnival before entering the round-robin part of the competition on the Friday and Saturday.
A feature of Saturday night will be a roast dinner & games night for competitors before the finals showdown on Sunday. Bookings are essential and must be received before Friday the 22nd June. Order forms are available on the Polocrosse schedule which is available on the Pony Club NSW website. A massive raffle will also be held throughout the championships, with the winners drawn on Sunday afternoon.
Sunday will see the best teams from the round-robin contest go to battle to be crowned this year’s winners for their age group. Presentations will be held at about 2pm on the Sunday afternoon.
Along with all the on the field action, the event will also feature trade stands for the horse enthusiast to browse, making the 2012 Bombers Australia State Polocrosse Championships a must see event.
The next Pony Club NSW State events are the Pony Club NSW State Mounted Games Championship which is to be held at Bungendore Showgrounds, Bungendore from the 29-30th September 2012 and the Ranvet State One Day Event Championship which is to be held at Albury Wodonga Equestrian Centre, Thurgoona from the 6-7th October 2012.
