Tamworth Pony Club has certainly had its ups and downs over the last few years with various issues including EI, however, as the year is coming to an end, everyone is feeling very positive and looking forward to an even better year ahead.
Our children have been exposed to a vast array of horse sports throughout the year from team penning to dressage and we had a pleasing number of riders at our annual camp with quite a few members from other Clubs joining us. We also had one of our most successful Jamborees this year with many great individual and team results.
We were also fortunate to be able to take all our members on an excursion on the last night of camp and we attended the first ever event to be held in the impressive new Australian Equine and Livestock Events Centre. The NCHA Futurity was held where we witnessed some of the countries finest cutting horses in action along with entertainment from some very impressive trick riders, barrel racers, bull riders and rodeo clowns. A couple of our junior members parents were competing in the barrel racing on the night and the noise from our bay as they turned their horses for home was deafening!

Our Club has also produced a pictorial calendar for 2009 which is full of great photos and memories from 2008 and will ensure our families have our Club’s pony club dates marked in their diary so they are ready to go again next year!

We were also privileged to have the PCA National Coach, Mrs Di Keech visit our Club for an Instructors School earlier in the year which was certainly a highlight for those that were able to attend.
Overall we have had a positive and busy year and are looking forward to our Club growing and prospering in 2009.
