We have had a number of outstanding entries over the last few months, which makes selecting a winner very hard. Congratulations to all clubs who have entered the competition - you all attend very inspiring clubs! We look forward to receiving more exciting entries this month.
We just wanted to nominate Matcham Valley Pony Club in Zone 24 for the Club of the Month as they are the most amazing bunch of enthusiastic kids, generous parents and finally a club that holds the true spirit of teamanship and embraces the true sense of community and fun!
We have just come back from an amazing Club Camp weekend, which was attended by 25 riders and their entire families. MVPC is a great example that Pony Club is not just about riding but also about caring for your horses, your club and being a part of a community.
Braving the 38 degree temperature on day 1 the kids and the horses only managed to get an hour or two in before it was too much, so all the horses and riders were paraded through a hose shower - wet ponies and kids which was followed by a caring group of kids wetting their horses down and making sure they were all comfortable - they displayed such great respect for their horses which was truely adm.irable, this was followed by the 25 riders and their additional 16 siblings sliding down a 20m piece of tarp with bubbles and water, whilst the parents joined in.
This club just consistently shows that we are a group of parents and kids determined to make sure that everyone has fun, feels included and cares for each other and our horses. Thankfully day 2 proved a lot cooler and our kids had the greatest fun with Equine Soccer, Pillow Polo, Group Parading, Troop Drills, Flour races and finishing of with Musical Dressage teams. Every parent, rider, non-rider kid and horse had the most amazing weekend all thanks to Matcham Valley Pony Club.
Cheers Ana Ferguson
